Not So Terrible Two Year Old--Happy Birthday!

"Hey Mom!  I'm two!"

Even though we got it before his real birthday, it seemed like we waited for days to get Johnny's Balance Bike.  Dad was still in Portland, so Grandpa Wade put it together for us.  We're not really patient in our family!

Johnny is the only grandchild of Grandma Kim and Grandpa Wade to have a birthday in March, so he got his very own celebration.

Johnny was in awe over his truck cake.  He couldn't take his eyes off it all night!  When Grandpa finally started cutting into it, he just couldn't take it.  He cried and cried and refused to eat it!  It gave me a good laugh.  I love that Johnny is that sensitive!

On Johnny's real birthday, we went to Hollywood Connection and rode some of the rides.  I was actually in my first few weeks of pregnancy, no one knew at the time, and was really regretting going there.  Those tight turns and strong smells we're a little more than I wanted to handle, yuck!

I wouldn't eat the truck cake, but he would eat a bowl of ice cream.

He also didn't mind eating an eclair later that night too.

Yes, Johnny had numerous birthday celebrations.  Finally, we celebrated all of the March birthdays on the Leeflang side:  Matt, Sam, Johnny, Gabby, Lauren, and Grace.  We made cupcakes for each child with a birthday.  I decided to make these frog cupcakes because they looked cute and halfway easy.  They weren't as easy as I thought--the story of my life.

I'm so mad the only picture we got of all them together turned out fuzzy--Boo!

Ribbit!

February Fun

Too Cool for School

Johnny is always such a good boy at Grandma Kim's Salon

Started classes at Kindermusic and Johnny is in 7th Heaven

Umm...hope that glass is REALLY thick!

Go UTES!  I think this is where Johnny's obsession with the Utes began.  We took him to a basketball game and he thought it was the best thing since ice cream.

Gotta love it when another fan's Diet Coke spills all over the floor.  We tried to keep Johnny away, but that was just too hard of a task for an almost 2 year old.

"My Fingers stuck...help!"

Future Beethoven?

Johnny adores his soft and snuggly animals!

Buying that potty so early was wishful thinking.

This picture makes me laugh (taken at Red Butte) !  It reminds me of  a cheesy picture taken in the '80's.

Portland Oregon Food Carts.  It was sometime in January or February Dad started taking business trips up to Portland, and moving there was becoming a very big reality.

Escaping the Cold

What a nice little 3 day vacation from the cold to St. George!!!

A little rock climbing

Smelling the cabbage at the temple

I love this picture!  Little does Johnny know he is enjoying the last few weeks with his binky!

Traditional temple picture

January

Starting the year off right at Snow Bird!  Best New Years EVER!  Free hot chocolate, beautiful scenery, cool torch ride, and fireworks all done by like 6:30.  I think we were actually asleep by 12:00.  Ha ha!  New Years is actually not my favorite holiday.  It marks the end of the holidays and the beginning of  the frigid cold--sigh!  But at least we had fun at Snow Bird.

Seems fitting to be at Snow Bird with Pete and Lis

O how I love the bink!

Johnny's commute was a little rough!  We couldn't even make it out of the driveway!

Good old Uncle Byron!!!  He's always good for some horsing around!

Johnny loves his towers!

Deer Valley Mogul Competition with Grandma and Grandpa--WOOT WOOT!

Johnny was actually more interested in sliding down the mountain with his slippery suit, but that was fun too!

We started swim lessons.  Lot's of kids cried when they had to do certain things (jump off the side, dunk their heads under water, etc.)  Not Johnny, he LOVED the water and was too curious for crying!  He may have been a bit shocked when we first dipped him under, but he handled it like a champ.

Love Milcreek and totally miss it!

Make my heart melt!
